PROJECT MANAGER
To establish the world's first online auction for financing developing country companies, starting with Mozambique.
BiD Network, GAPI (Mozambique) and a Multinational Dutch Bank seek a (preferably Portuguese speaking) project manager who will help setup an online auction for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from Mozambique and investors in the Netherlands. If this pilot is successful it will be rolled out to other countries.
The Position
You will manage, set up and successfully launch the entity which will source SME propositions in Mozambique. These propositions - needing 20,000 euro to 2 million euro of finance - will be screened, checked and offered to Mozambican and Dutch financiers. You will attract financiers. You will set up the legal, financial and ICT/Web templates and systems to make this work. You are responsible for sourcing of SMEs, financiers and the building of the infrastructure. As support you will have an assistant, the (legal, web, finance) teams and budget from the 3 partner organisations at your disposal.
The Qualifications
. You have a practical understanding of the legal background of financial transactions,
. You have a proven track record as a project manager,
. You have led web-development projects in a financial or high security domain;
. You can be in Mozambique and in the Netherlands for months at a time;
. You know how to and are experienced at training professionals;
. You have experience in the financing of developing country companies;
. You can get things done from other people and follow them up incessantly;
. You have some business plan and due diligence experience.
. You speak and write fluent English and preferably Portuguese;
The Procedure
Apply before October 1st 2009.
The pilot project will be from October 1st 2009 until mid-2011. You will be based at the BiD Network office in Amsterdam but also in Maputo, Mozambique.
